The orange juice is a longstanding, venerable tradition of Nathan's. Last year the guys all spent the night with David Strautmann before embarking on the hike. They all brought a few things for breakfast, and coincidentally each brought a carton of orange juice, totalling at least six. Nathan decided to take a carton with him, which became an icon.

Traditions are not to be broken, so here we again have Nathan and the orange juice.
