EMERGENCY HOMESCHOOL RALLY AT THE CAPITOL

Last Wednesday evening, the homeschool community in Missouri received word that an ammendment had been added to an education bill that although unintended, would nonetheless adversely affect homeschoolers, significantly erroding their freedoms.

A rally was schedule for the next day, Thurday, at 1:00pm on the capitol steps.

As we walked toward the capitol, we wondered what sort of turn out there would be, with less than 24 hours notice. We were moved to see so many families drop everything and travel many miles to stand together to make their appeal to the legislature.
The Serven Clan, a wonderful homeschool family we are honored to know, graciously shared these pictures with us. It was a treat to get to visit briefly with them at the Capitol. There were many wonderful families there that we knew, and I was confident that the rest of the families would be excellent friends as well.
The crowd grew to over 2,000 and we were briefed by Kerry Messer, one of the Seven Wonders of Missouri, on the events that had transpired and the ammendment that had been crafted to rectify the situation. I would encourage you to join Missouri Family Network, founded by Mr. Messer. More information by visiting http://missourifamilynetwork.net
