Wow, you guys keep chucking out the plays - so cool!

We watched "The Pirates of Penzance" at my brother's house last spring for the first time (the one with Kevin Kline, Linda Ronstadt, Julia Roberts...) - it was great! I like how the humor that was cleverly woven into the story. According to my sister-in-law, not all versions make it funny.

That particular version is referred to as "Papp's Pirates" after the producer of it, Joseph Papp. It originally ran at he Delacourt Theatre in Central Park (the one by the old castle). It ran for 35 performances, and was so popular that it transferred to Broadway, where it ran for 787 performances. They then used the same cast (except Angela Lansbury was new) for the movie. We intend to do a similar version.

Ah, good stuff.

"A paradox a paradox, a most intriguing paradox! Hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah a paradox!"

We didn't believe Dad when he told us that "Mabel" was a rock star. "No rock star has that good of a voice, Dad!" :D

Boy, were we wrong. LOL
