BLUEBERRIES . . . A FAVORITE FAMILY TRADITION

"TASTE AND SEE THAT THE LORD IS GOOD"

"Blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him.
Fear the Lord, you His saints, for those who fear Him lack nothing"
Psalm 34:8-9

Opening Day at Brandywine Farms, our local U-Pick. We all look forward to picking blueberries with almost as much anticipation as a child might wait for Christmas. We were only able to pick for a hour and a half, before leaving to pick up Joel from a Music Composition Camp in Columbia Missouri. (Poor Joel missed out.)(More on the C.O.M.P. camp later.) We hope to put more berries in the freezer before the season is over.

What a way to spend the morning . . . Kaplink, kaplank, kaplunk . . . I think Glory ate her weight in blueberries!

Nathanael filled a bucket-plus. Our new up and coming "champion-picker"!

Wonderful pictures! Our local berry place was hit by hail last week and lost everything, so no berry picking for us this year. What a wonderful picking team you have!

Actually, Alyssa, we like to freeze the berries to use throughout the year and so we try to pick a lot. This year was actually a fairly light year with 55lbs, and so we are considering picking another morning. I believe we have the record for the blueberry farm with about 120lbs in one morning.

wow. just wow.
Yea we kinda had a lot of unripe berries to choose from, so our group only totaled like 30 or so pounds :)

I recognize "kaplink, kaplank, kaplunk!" The blueberry farm near us went out of business several years ago and we've never tried to find another. All the photos look lovely.
