About 5 years ago, my dear friend Anita Martin gave me this book for my birthday. It has been a delight to me, and I particularly enjoy looking through it when it matches the decor outdoor (like today). The photographs are stunning in their detail, and I am awed by the variety and extreme beauty of something so tiny.

"How full of creative genius is the air in which these are generated! I should hardly admire them more if real stars fell and lodged on my coat" Henry David Thoreau, Journal, 1856

As an artist, my heart sings in appreciation and praise to the Master Artist,
who infuses every single part of creation with extravagant beauty.
