While the guys work off their lunch, the girls quietly digest.

Or maybe they're just having fun.

The doggie gets a rest too.

And they're off again!

WISDOM

"We have forgotten God. We have forgotten the gracious hand, which preserved in peace and multiplied and enriched and strengthened us. We have vainly imagined in the deceitfulness of our heart that all of theses blessings that we see in our country were produced by superior wisdom and virtue of our own."

- Abraham Lincoln

THE CAST PARTY, MAY 10

People began arriving . . .

and they brought LOTS of good food.

Adler found a puppy in an exceptionally short time!

CROWD SHOTS

I have always been a firm believer in "the more, the merrier." Judging by that axiom, the cast party was a jolly affair! We had exactly 100 members of the Fine Linen Drama Group in attendance, if we count Jeff.

Crowded Porch

Crowded Living Room

Crowded Kitchen

And one over-crowded glider!

VOLUNTARY SEGREGATION

The little girls and puppies gathered on the porch . . .

while the young men guard the front door.

The men inspect the addition . .

while the women laugh in the kitchen.

MULTIPLE ACTIVITIES

Some people played games.

Some people made music . . .

. . .and so did some others.

And some people just enjoyed sitting next to Daddy.

AND THEN THERE WERE THE ROUGH AND ROWDY ONES

They played various games of catch.

We unfortunately have no pictures of the kick ball game in the pouring rain.

THE BRUTAL TRUTH

Yesterday evening I took Glory out to look at the stars. They were beautiful. After we oohed and aahed a bit, Glory began one of her conversations (the kind two year olds have and you wonder where the thoughts came from.):

GLORY: "Where's the car?"
ME: "Over there, behind the shop."
GLORY: " Do we have one car?"
ME: "Yes."
GLORY: "Do we have two cars?" (Vans are not cars, she has informed me in the past)
ME: "No."
GLORY: "What happened to our other car?"
ME: "We got rid of it because it got really old."

Long Pause . . . .

GLORY: "Well, you're really old."

Thankfully, when the conversation was relayed to Keith, he emphatically stated that we would not have to get rid of Mom yet.

NIKKI IS A GREAT DOG

I have been so totally impressed with the wonderful character qualities of the German Shepherd's Dog. Josiah's Nikki is the most loyal, most intelligent, most diligent dog I have ever known (and all the others that come close were German Shepherds as well!)

Playing follow the leader . .

. . . and now pounce!

PUPPIES! !

Two and a half weeks ago, April 10th, Nikki had 7 adorable puppies. When the little ones woke, she had delivered 3 of the pups. They participated in an impromptu "Science Class" as they spent the morning watching the other 4 pups be born.

The proud mother.

Yesterday was the puppies first "outing", which they greatly enjoyed, as did all the kids.
